Environmental approach

Practical choices.
Made responsibly.

We consider material use, durability, waste and end-of-life from the start of a project, helping customers make informed choices without overstating what any one material can do.

Our approach

Viewing the planet as a partner.

At DisplayMode, we are serious about minimising our environmental impact. We encourage customers to consider responsible options at the briefing stage and help them understand the balance between appearance, performance, useful life and recyclability.

A display that lasts for its intended life and uses materials efficiently can be a better choice than one selected on a simple label alone. Our recommendations are therefore made around the needs of each project.

01

Material selection

Where the brief allows, we can specify recyclable plastics, paper and cardboard, FSC-certified wood and bamboo sheet materials. We select materials for the required finish, strength and service life as well as their environmental characteristics.

02

Recycled options

Recycled content is available where it is suitable for the application. Our Reflex Sustain sign holder, for example, is made using recycled and fully recyclable material.

03

Production waste

Careful design and machining help reduce avoidable material use. Suitable plastic production waste is separated and, where practical, reground for reuse in-house or sent to specialist recycling partners.

04

Designed for purpose

We aim to avoid unnecessary complexity, choose robust construction and consider how materials could be separated at the end of a display’s useful life. The right answer depends on the intended retail environment and rollout.

Working together

Clear responsibility across the supply chain.

DisplayMode manages the overall project and manufactures the components suited to our own facilities. Specialist print, metalwork and finishing are sourced through selected partners. Where a brief has specific environmental priorities, we discuss those requirements with the relevant supplier and make the available options clear to the customer.

We continue to review materials and processes as better practical options become available. We do not describe every display as sustainable: we explain the choices made for the specific job and avoid claims that cannot be supported.
